Brief History

AMG Training offers a fresh and innovative approach to training within the helping sector.

Its founder, Anna-Marie Gillman is a highly skilled professional with over 12 years experience in the helping profession.

Anna-Marie graduated from York University in 1998 with a BA (Honours) in Social Policy and went on to gain a post graduate qualification in Counselling from York St John College in 2001.

Anna-Marie has worked in York as a Connexions Intensive P.A since March 2002 and has gained extensive experience in working with young people and their families to overcome issues such as homelessness, teenage pregnancy, depression, family breakdown and substance misuse.

Anna-Marie has led group sessions for young people identified as being at risk of exclusion from mainstream school. The focus of the groups have been; confidence building and raising self esteem; improving communication skills and developing self awareness.

Anna-Marie has also worked in Further Education at Doncaster College teaching accredited counselling skills courses at level 2 and level 3 to adults.

AMG Training offers courses that provide people with an opportunity to develop and enhance their interpersonal skills in order to become more confident and competent in their professional role. Each course will introduce some practical “tools” that are effective in helping people recognise their personal issues and work towards change. AMG Training courses also provide the delegate with the opportunity to develop and enhance their levels of self awareness.
