Getting the most out of supervision; a supervisors perspective
This course is for people who wish to develop their understanding of the functions and process of supervision in order to support others more effectively.
Aim of course:
To introduce participants to the key points that need to be considered if they are to offer effective supervision in their current and (or) future roles.
The key points that will be explored are:
- Becoming a supervisor.
- The process of supervision.
- Models of supervision.
- Supervising people that are 'different' to yourself.
- How the 'culture' of an organisation may affect supervision types.
- The importance of supervision training and development.
The training will seek to develop the participants skills, confidence and resources in offering supervision within their professional role. It will also provide an opportunity for participants to reflect on their current role and identify ways of using what they have learnt to inform their own working practice.
Target Staff:
The course is recommended for anyone who offers supervision as part of their professional role or may be required to do so in the future.
