Transactional Analysis … a useful tool for working with relationship issues
This course is for people who wish to develop an understanding of Transactional Analysis (T.A) and would like the opportunity to use some of it's framework in their professional role.
Aim of course:
To introduce the core principles that underpin Transactional Analysis. The training will introduce some of the key skills and techniques that can be used by practitioners when applying T.A to their work. It will highlight how accessible T.A is as a;
- theory of personality
- model of communication
- study of behaviour patterns
The course will introduce the participant to the idea of 'ego states' and discuss how they are paramount to understanding the relationships that people have with one another. The course will particularly focus on how T.A can be used as an effective 'tool' when looking at how relationships are formed, the roles within particular relationships and how roles can be changed to promote harmony and well being.
The training will then introduce to the delegate how T.A can be used to discuss and gain an understanding of 'attachment theory' and the impact attachment has on children and young people.
The training will seek to develop the participants skills, confidence and resources in demonstrating a Transactional Analysis approach within their professional role. It will also provide an opportunity for participants to reflect on their current role and identify ways of using what they have learnt to inform their own working practice.
Target Staff:
The course is recommended for anyone who is currently working directly with people and offer emotional support as part of their role and (or) individuals that may wish to pursue a career within the helping sector.
